Week 11 of Pekarek’s Produce CSA

Dobry Den!

Holy moly – Busy does not describe the sentiment of things happening at Pekarek’s Produce.  As of this week, most of our workers have gone back to school, so most of our labor force is gone.  In addition to that, Jacob’s first day at East Butler is today, so things have felt a little crazy.

This week Brett brought us 14,000 more broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower and brussel sprout plants.  Tuesday afternoon we began transplanting using the transplanter.  Ryan drove the tractor pulling four of us who sat on the back to drop plants in the correct spots.  Unfortunately, it didn’t take long to realize that it is just too dry to use the transplanter – so we crawled on hands and knees to transplant about half the plants in one day.

Luckily we were able to run drip tape on the plants right away, so they are looking pretty good today!

What’s in today’s bag:

This week’s full share has:

  • Slicing Cucumber, Muskmelon, Eggplant, Red Tomatoes, Yellow Tomatoes, Potatoes

This week’s partial share has:
